Tinder Continues ‘RomCom’ Campaign in Australia
This month, Tinder has introduced a new chapter of its acclaimed global campaign, “It Starts With a Swipe,” in the Australian market. The latest installment, titled “RomCom,” aims to illustrate how real romantic connections can be made easily through the dating app, contrasting the difficulties of real-life meet-cutes with the straightforwardness of finding love online.
The campaign features playful, hidden-camera-style TikTok content created in collaboration with Akcelo and Amplify, showcasing local talent and influencers such as Lachy Mac, Sam Fricker, and Lily Grace. These videos capture everyday Australians attempting to craft romantic moments in common settings like supermarkets, dog parks, and cafes, ultimately highlighting how Tinder simplifies the process of forming meaningful connections.
Kristen Hardeman, Country Director for Tinder Australia, emphasized the campaign’s message, stating, “While the charm of meet-cutes in classic rom-coms captures our hearts, they’re rare in real life.” She also noted that Tinder’s rapid rate of new matches makes it a good solution for couples who want to find genuine connections quickly.
The “RomCom” campaign has previously launched in several global markets, including the UK, Spain, and Germany, and is set to continue in Australia through mid-November. Additional content featuring other creators is also planned for release, although this will obviously depend on whether or not the campaign actually sees success in the Australian market.
