WedKnott Secures Investment to Expand Dubai Matchmaking

Indian premium matchmaking platform WedKnott has secured a strategic investment from blockchain entrepreneur Sir Pratik Gauri as it prepares to expand its operations beyond India into Dubai and London. The move signals a broader push by high-end matchmaking services to cater to global Indian professionals and internationally mobile elites seeking more curated alternatives to mainstream dating apps.

Founded in 2018 by Abhinav Gandhi and co-founded by Misha Malik, WedKnott operates at the upper end of the matrimonial and matchmaking market. The platform focuses on highly educated professionals, including Ivy League alumni, senior executives, and entrepreneurs, offering psychology-led matchmaking supported by human advisors. Since launch, WedKnott has built a network of approximately 250,000 individuals and currently runs operations out of Noida and Mumbai.

The new investment comes from Sir Pratik Gauri, founder of blockchain company 5ire, which reached unicorn status with a reported valuation of $1.5 billion. Gauri’s experience in scaling businesses internationally is expected to play a key role as WedKnott enters overseas markets. His broader ecosystem includes partnerships with government bodies and educational institutions across India and the Middle East, positioning him as a strategic backer rather than a purely financial investor.

WedKnott’s decision to establish offices in Dubai and London reflects growing demand for discreet, high-touch matchmaking services among the Indian diaspora and global professionals in these cities. Both markets have seen increased interest in premium relationship services, particularly from individuals with limited time and a preference for culturally aligned, values-driven introductions.
