KinkD Highlights Safety Issues in BDSM Dating
KinkD, a leading festish, BDSM and kink dating app, has shared worrying new research about the harms that some women face when engaging in the world of ‘alternative dating’. The platform highlights its plans provide a safer dating experience for kinky singles.
In an independent survey of 3,033 female users, KinkD identified continuing issues of consent and of romance scams.
It found that 68% of female respondents have been through a non-consensual kinky experience with people they met online. This experience includes being subjected to a violent or degrading act without their consent.
KinkD also found that 33% of female respondents have been the victim of a scam, perpetrated by a fake Sub / Dom they connected with online. These scams could involve financial, sexual, romantic elements or false images & videos.
As a result of these findings, KinkD is now looking to adopt verification tools, as well as creating workshops and educational programmes regarding user safety.
“Trust is paramount in our community, and our users deserve nothing but the best. Our aim is to make KinkD synonymous with both fun and safety”, explained John Martinuk, the mind behind KinkD.
“In the diverse landscape of alternative relationship dating, these statistics underscore the importance of constant evolution and vigilant safety measures. Our commitment isn’t just to connect individuals with shared interests but to ensure that their interactions remain consensual and secure”, he added.
KinkD, which serves almost 2 million users, looks to create a future where everyone can freely express their desires without fear. Find out more about the platform here.
