Aisle Survey: 51% of Indian Singles Use AI to Write Dating Messages

Indian dating app Aisle has released its 2026 industry report, How India Is Using Technology to Navigate Love, examining how singles use AI in dating. Based on a survey of 8,240 urban Indian singles, the report found that AI is widely used for writing profiles, messages, and seeking relationship advice, although many respondents remain uncomfortable with its use by potential partners.

Key findings include:

  • 51.2% run dating messages through AI before sending them.
  • 46% have used AI to write or improve their dating profiles.
  • 24.3% use AI themselves but would be bothered if their match did the same.
  • 40.2% would feel deceived and likely unmatch if they discovered a match’s photo was AI-enhanced or AI-generated.
  • 53.1% of women use AI to discuss feelings and relationship concerns.
  • 51.9% of women ignore opening messages that sound AI-generated.
  • 64.2% trust their own instincts over AI.

Chandni Gaglani, Executive Vice President and Head of Aisle, described AI as another source of dating advice alongside friends and family. She said more than 2.5 million people have connected through Aisle, which uses human verification to support its matchmaking service.

Aisle is an Indian dating app focused on serious relationships. It reported a 40% year-on-year increase in billings for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. Its parent company, Info Edge, also operates Jeevansathi, a traditional matrimonial platform focused on marriage. Combined billings from the two platforms grew 23.1% during the quarter. Jeevansathi’s billings increased 18.4% to ₹39.7 crore (approximately $4.1 million), up from ₹33.5 crore (approximately $3.5 million) a year earlier.
