Bumble Partners with PUMA India for Singles-Only Running Event
PUMA India has partnered with the dating app Bumble to host a singles-only running event in Bengaluru, combining fitness and dating just in time for Singles’ Day. The event, targeting individuals aged 21–35, will take place on November 10th, one day before the annual celebration of single life.
The event will feature a 3 km run starting at Nexus Koramangala mall and culminating in a social mixer, providing runners an opportunity to connect over shared interests in an informal setting. Bumble’s recent survey highlights the demand for such a concept, with 72% of single Indians open to sports-themed dates, and 44% viewing a lack of sports interest as a dealbreaker.
This partnership aligns with shifting trends among Indian Millennials and Gen Z, who increasingly prefer immersive, activity-based dating experiences over traditional setups. According to Karthik Balagopalan, MD of PUMA India, the collaboration is part of the brand’s commitment to engaging young consumers and fostering a community around shared interests.
The running connection wasn’t chosen at random, either. With more and more hobby apps becoming places to find matches, it’s only natural that running clubs and other sports platforms have been used this way too. Platforms like Strava have become increasingly popular for all kinds of social interaction, and many users are finding romance while partnering up with other runners – a trend that’s been happening since the start of this year.
