Coffee Meets Bagel Worldwide 2.0 Adds More Dating Control
Coffee Meets Bagel Worldwide has released CMB WW 2.0, a significant update to its dating platform designed to address user frustration with endless swiping and limited offline progress. The company, which focuses on intentional matchmaking, introduced new features intended to encourage better conversations and facilitate real-world dates.
Since a phased rollout of the updated interface began in June, the platform has reported early engagement gains, including an approximate 30% increase in messages sent with likes and a 21% rise in average profile viewing time.

Key additions include Topic Suggestions, a personalized message composer that generates conversation starters based on a match’s profile and chat history. Users can edit the suggestions, retaining control over their interactions. Headlines allow users to add a short bio under their name, providing additional context beyond traditional prompts. Real Dates surfaces dating preferences and activity ideas to help matches transition from chatting to meeting offline, with editable recommendations and plans for potential venue partnerships.
The update also features a rebuilt recommendation engine that uses machine learning to prioritize mutual compatibility, drawing on evolving user interactions rather than one-sided signals.
Shn Juay, CEO of Coffee Meets Bagel Worldwide, said the changes respond to community feedback and aim to restore more intentional habits. “The future of dating is about helping daters form meaningful connections,” Juay noted, emphasizing thoughtful conversations and moving interactions beyond the app.
As part of the launch, the company is relaunching its Wedding Sponsorship Program. Couples who met on the platform can apply for a small goodwill contribution toward wedding elements, such as a dessert table or photo booth, along with a couples kit and premium offer codes for guests. Eligibility is subject to program terms.
Coffee Meets Bagel, founded in 2012, operates separately in Worldwide and U.S. markets following a 2024 structural split. The Worldwide team continues to focus on users seeking serious relationships, reporting more than 260 million matches facilitated to date.
