Dating App Hily Wins Prestigious Red Dot Award
Hily has received international recognition after earning the Red Dot Award in the Brand Design Identity category – part of the 2025 cycle of the Red Dot Award for Brands & Communication Design. The accolade comes in response to Hily’s major visual and brand redesign that rolled out in 2024.
The redesign was a collaboration with creative agency O0 Design Lab and was guided by the tagline “Date as you are,” which aims to encourage users to present themselves authentically, without the pressure of perfection or curation. The updated identity includes a refreshed logo and a modernised violet colour palette – design changes intended to give the brand a contemporary, fluid feel, with the main “H” icon symbolising connection between two people.
According to Hily’s Head of Brand and Communications, the rebrand reflects the app’s commitment to authenticity and sincerity in online dating: the new brand platform, she said, aims to let users show up as they are, no pretending, no performance.
The Red Dot Award is widely regarded among the most prestigious international design competitions. Projects honoured under its Brands & Communication Design umbrella are evaluated by an expert jury on elements like brand identity, clarity, creativity, and cultural resonance — and winners gain global visibility through publication in the Red Dot Yearbook and display in design museums.
