Double-Dating App Fourplay Reaches Over 60,000 Users
Dating app Fourplay has surpassed 60,000 users as of early last month, marking a significant milestone for the double-dating platform. Originally founded by healthcare professionals Julie Griggs and Danielle Dietzek, the app launched in 2019 after recognizing a demand for group dating experiences. Despite initial setbacks, including technical challenges and the pandemic, Fourplay has steadily grown.
The app encourages users to team up with a friend and go on double dates, adding a social dynamic to traditional one-on-one dating. After some initial scalability issues, outside technical expertise helped the platform gain ground and keep itself running even as the user base grew, with Fourplay still actively gaining users day by day.
The platform recently ran a marketing campaign involving flyers and trackable QR codes distributed across New York City, trying to coax more unsatisfied dating app users into trying their double-dating system. Even without this campaign, Fourplay seems to have settled into a niche that works, and is on track to reach a significantly higher user count by the end of the year.
