Exclusive Jewish Dating App Lox Club Expands to London

The Lox Club, a private U.S.-based dating app tailored for culturally Jewish singles, is making its international debut in London next week as its first real step outside of the United States. Known for its selective membership model and quirky branding, the app positions itself as a space for those seeking meaningful connections with a touch of humor and heritage.

Founded in 2020 by Austin Kevitch, the app initially launched in the U.S. as a satirical take on elite dating services, branding itself as “a membership-based dating app for Jews with ridiculously high standards.” But interest quickly surged, and by 2021, the platform reportedly had a waitlist of 20,000 users.

Like a number of more recent dating apps that want to capture an in-person crowd, the Lox Club combines online interaction with real-world elements, offering personalized matchmaking services and themed social events. These range from tongue-in-cheek speed dating nights to intimate Shabbat dinners. Applicants are vetted through a detailed process, including personal information, career background, and social media review—aimed more at gauging personality and values than celebrity status.

The London launch includes a kickoff event at a Camden bar, marking the brand’s first official move outside the United States. While the app caters to a Jewish audience, membership is open to anyone who appreciates its cultural aesthetic. As Kevitch once explained, “It’s like a deli: culturally Jewish, but anyone can enjoy it.”
