Free Tickets Are Available For The Woman In Dating ‘Trust, Safety & Inclusion’ Interactive Workshop

Women in Dating is hosting an exclusive, hands-on workshop alongside the brilliant team at Hally, taking place on Tuesday, September 15th at the Harbour House Hotel in Richmond, London.

Sponsored by happn, the event is taking place from 2pm to 6pm and is being held the day before GDI’s Europe Conference. It is entitled ‘Trust, Safety & Inclusion: The New Strategic Imperative for Dating Platforms.’ and aims to be an open, practical discussion focused on real product strategy and real growth.

From 2pm, there will be afternoon tea and coffee, with the interactive workshop kicking off at 3pm and running for 90 minutes. It will be conducted in English. After the session, there will be an opportunity for Q&A and networking.

At 6pm, attendees will be able to head next door to The Roebuck Inn for GDI’s pre-event networking reception.

The Session

The session is led by Clémence, a specialised consultant with deep experience in app product management who regularly advises major platforms on safety, and who has credible references from a number of dating platforms.

The session will cover four main areas:

• Different forms of violence in dating: An overview of violence in a dating context, including emerging forms and the ways AI is being used in online abuse, drawing on recent reporting and research. It will also address questions around dating profiles, sharing preferences and the potential for exclusion.

• Safety by design: A 360° approach to integrating safety into strategic decision-making rather than treating it as an addition at the end of the process. The framework is organised around four areas: customer care, training, positioning and roadmap. The session will include practical actions suited to different stages of an app’s development, from a new launch to an established team, alongside longer-term initiatives.

• Regulation: An overview of key legal frameworks, including the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), the UK Online Safety Act and GDPR. The focus will be on the main obligations and their practical implications, while also exploring how regulatory compliance can support a company’s positioning and approach to safety. The discussion can be adapted to reflect the jurisdictions represented in the room.

• Interactive discussion and exercises: Practical exercises and opportunities for participants to share examples and approaches throughout the session, concluding with a best-practice discussion. The format will be adapted to the group, with attention to participation and balanced speaking time.
