Gleeden Hits 3 Million Users in India, Launches Comedy Club
Extramarital dating platform Gleeden has achieved a significant milestone, reaching 3 million users in India. This marks a 270% growth in users compared to the previous year, with female registrations increasing by an impressive 128%. To celebrate this achievement, Gleeden launched its inaugural “Gleeden Comedy Club” in Gurugram, blending humor with insights on modern relationships, online dating, and infidelity.
The platform, active in over 29 countries with a global user base of 12 million, has seen its Indian presence dominated by metropolitan hubs. Bengaluru leads with 20% of users, followed by Mumbai (19%), Kolkata (18%), and Delhi (15%). Additionally, interest is growing in smaller cities like Bhopal, Vadodara, Kochi, and Guwahati.
The Comedy Club event featured host Shashi Dhiman and a lineup of stand-up comedians, including Pranav Sharma and Prajwal Raj, that revolved around Gleeden’s nature as an adultery dating platform. A panel discussion toward the evening’s conclusion allowed for anonymous confessions from the audience, giving attendees a chance to voice their real feelings about their extramarital relationships and expewiences.
Sybil Shiddell, Gleeden’s India Country Manager, emphasized the importance of India as a key market and the broader acceptance of platforms like Gleeden. “India has always been a key market for us and reaching the 3 Million user milestone speaks volumes about our perseverance and the growing acceptance for a platform like Gleeden in the country. The increasing interest of women users was also overwhelming for us, and seeing this broader interest, we decided to engage different modes of mass communication for the Indian audience”
The first part of the comedy event is now available on Gleeden’s YouTube channel, with the second segment, focused on audience confessions, set to release on February 7, coinciding with Valentine’s week. This spike in users may lead to Gleeden doubling its focus on the Indian market using events like the Comedy Club – as Shiddell stated: “The electric atmosphere at the show proved that we are on the right track — something that we would like to replicate in the later editions.”
