Grindr Launches Europe Events Tour with ‘The Gaybourhood’
Dating app Grindr is expanding its presence beyond the digital world with a new partnership at the upcoming Mighty Hoopla festival in London. The company is co-creating The Gaybourhood, a brand-new festival area designed to celebrate queer culture and inclusivity.
The Gaybourhood, introduced as part of the 2025 Mighty Hoopla festival, will feature three new themed stages: Hay Girl Hay, embracing queer country and Coyote Ugly-inspired performances; The Working Them’s Club, a gender-inclusive East London-style pub with cabaret and karaoke; and The Dyke Bar, hosted by the team behind London’s UHaul Dykr Rescue club nights. Additionally, The Bump stage from previous years will be incorporated into this new space.
“Mighty Hoopla is an unapologetic, joyous celebration of our community and all things camp, queer, and gay,” said Tristan Pineiro, SVP Brand Marketing & Comms at Grindr. “We couldn’t be happier to kick off our Grindr Rides Europe Tour by co-creating our very own Gaybourhood experience.” The festival will also feature a return of the Grindr Bus, a promotional activation offering festivalgoers the opportunity to take professional profile pictures, enjoy drag performances, play games, and receive free merchandise and Grindr Unlimited giveaways.
Given the “Grindr Rides Europe Tour” comment and the recent notable shifts towards in-person dating and social experiences over purely online connections, this could be the start of a larger events tour – similar to the Grindr Rides America tour from 2024. So far, though, the Gaybourhood is simply the first step on whatever Grindr has planned.
