happn Partners with Foursquare to Enhance Social Dating
Social dating app happn has joined forces with Foursquare, enhancing its ‘CrushPoints’ feature to expand user engagement by integrating a whole host of new global locations into the system. happn’s new “CrushPoints for All” allows singles to add their favorite local spots – cafes, parks, restaurants, etc – to their profiles, enabling connections based on shared venues.
This change comes off the back of 81% of Indian singles expressing an interest in in-person meetings at familiar spots – and given that happn has 41 million registered Indian users, this improvement to the existing system could have significant benefits to the platform. The collaboration with Foursquare, leveraging its location technology, empowers happn users to explore a broader range of venues.
happn’s CEO, Karima Ben Abdelmalek, stated that this partnership aims to “redefine the social dating experience,” by facilitating real-world connections and offering new brand engagement opportunities. The idea is to both increase user engagement and allow real-world brands to get a stronger foothold in the dating work, incentivizing users to choose significant or familiar sites as a re-usable dating location.
ith plans to introduce native advertising aligned with singles’ favorite places, happn is pushing to make CrushPoints for All a powerful part of its user toolset and an effective way to enhance its own advertising options.
