Match Group CEO Bernard Kim Steps Down
Bernard Kim, the CEO of Match Group, has announced that he will be stepping down from the position to pursue his the next chapter of his career. In his place, Spencer Rascoff will take over as CEO, effective immediately – Rascoff, a veteran entrepreneur known for his leadership at Zillow, has a wealth of industry experience that make him a good candidate to replace Kim.
Rascoff released his own statement when the switchover was officially complete, stating that he will be focusing on human connection as a core part of Match Groups’ future mission. In the email he released to the company’s employees upon taking over, he stated that he has been “motivated by the mission of our company: to spark meaningful connections for every single person worldwide“.
Rascoff brings extensive experience in scaling consumer technology businesses. He previously served as co-founder and CEO of Zillow for over a decade, helping to transform it into a market leader. His background also includes co-founding Hotwire, a pioneering travel marketplace, and Pacaso, a real estate startup focused on second-home ownership. In addition to his executive experience, Rascoff has been an investor and advisor to numerous high-growth technology companies in sectors such as media, AI, and marketplaces.
Rascoff is set to join Match Group’s fourth-quarter earnings call today (Febuary 5th), where he will discuss the company’s vision and upcoming initiatives.
