MillionaireMatch Survey: Slow Replies Kill Connections

A recent survey by MillionaireMatch, a dating platform for successful singles, has revealed that dating apps can have peak reply hours and specific limits on how long users are willing to wait for a resonse. According to the survey, most users expect replies within two hours, with delays often diminishing interest in conversations – which doesn’t just impact users in different time zones, but also users who simply have entirely different schedules.

The platform also revealed peak engagement times for users: weekday evenings from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., lunchtime hours between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. These windows, when users are most active, provide an ideal opportunity for daters to connect with potential matches. Special occasions like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Valentine’s Day also see increased activity, as users seek companionship during holidays.

While this might sound like common sense, it also indicates a possible problem that some dating platforms could run into – users refusing to engage with others that can’t reply to them quickly. This can make high-quality matches harder to find and can make international dating apps a lot less effective if users take on this attitude, and could significantly impact the kind of matches that specific user demographics will trend towards (for example, people in a similar or identical time zone).

Dani Johnson, a spokesperson for MillionaireMatch, emphasized the importance of leveraging these active periods: MillionaireMatch makes it a priority to “encourage (their) users to maximize their chances of finding a high-quality match by being more involved during these peak times.”
