Pinterest Introduces Built-in Media Planner

Pinterest has introduced a new Media Planner tool within its Ads Manager, designed to streamline the planning and management of advertising campaigns on the platform.

The feature integrates directly into the existing Ads Manager interface, accessible via the top-left menu under “Manage Campaigns.” It provides advertisers with a centralized dashboard for overseeing Pin-based promotions, eliminating the need for external spreadsheets or additional software for upper-funnel campaign strategy.

Pinterest describes the tool’s core capabilities as follows: “The Pinterest Media Planner is built directly into the Ads Manager, giving you a single place to plan upper-funnel campaigns without needing any additional tools or manual modeling on spreadsheets.”

Key functionalities include audience exploration, where users can identify and evaluate high-potential segments based on demographics, interests, and keyword affinities to align with specific campaign objectives. The planner also delivers performance estimates, offering projections for metrics such as impressions, reach, frequency, CPM for awareness-focused efforts, and clicks or CPC for consideration-oriented campaigns. These estimates can be refined by factors like budget levels and geographic targeting, including country-specific insights.

Additionally, the tool supports scenario modeling, allowing advertisers to compare various configurations – such as different budget allocations, flight durations, audience selections, and ad formats – to optimize resource allocation and predict outcomes more accurately.
