TikTok Launches “Shared Feed” and “Shared Collections” Features
TikTok has unveiled a new update that moves the short-form video app beyond solo browsing – introducing collaborative tools aimed at strengthening connections between friends and family. As of December 2025, the platform is rolling out two main features: “Shared Feed,” which offers a customised joint video feed, and “Shared Collections,” a shared space for saving and organising TikTok content collaboratively.
With Shared Feed, two users – once they mutually follow each other and accept an invite – receive a daily curated stream of 15 videos in their private chat. The selections are generated based on both participants’ previous activity, likes, and interests, covering topics like hobbies, music, seasonal activities or shared interests, giving a fresh spin on social discovery by making it communal rather than individual.
Meanwhile, Shared Collections expands TikTok’s existing saving functionality. Instead of users saving videos privately, Shared Collections lets friends or family members co-create a shared folder. Whether it’s holiday gift ideas, design inspirations, or favourite creator content, the tool acts like a collaborative board – accessible to all participants, similar in spirit to a shared Pinterest board, but powered by TikTok videos. TikTok is also introducing in-app greeting cards, a seasonal interactive way for users to send animated “cards” via direct messages.
The move echoes similar efforts by other social platforms: for example, Instagram introduced a “Blend” feature earlier in 2025 to let friends create a joint Reels feed. Whether users will embrace these collaborative features — or prefer the traditional method of sharing individual posts manually — remains to be seen. But with the changes, TikTok appears ready to shape itself not just as a content-discovery engine, but as a social hub.
