Tinder’s Recent Product Changes to Take Focus at CEO Event
Match Group is set to provide a closer look at Tinder’s recent product changes and development strategy as the dating company continues efforts to improve the app’s performance.
The company announced that its next CEO Connection Series event will focus on Tinder’s “product evolution and velocity”, covering changes made to the dating app over the past 12 to 18 months. The session will also examine changes to Tinder’s internal culture and product development processes, with a focus on faster testing, learning and execution.
The event will be hosted by Match Group CEO Spencer Rascoff on September 3 at 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time, with a webcast available through the company’s investor relations site.
The focus on product development comes as Tinder remains a central part of Match Group’s efforts to improve its overall dating business. Rascoff has previously described product velocity as part of the company’s broader turnaround strategy, alongside efforts to strengthen Hinge and encourage more real-world connections.
Match Group launched the CEO Connection Series in May as a quarterly event intended to provide more detail on its brands, users and product strategy. Its first session focused on how Gen Z is influencing dating behaviour and culture.
The upcoming Tinder session is likely to give investors and industry observers more detail on how the company is approaching product development at its largest brand, including the pace at which new features and changes are being tested and released. Given the many major changes that the dating industry seems to be undergoing, from changes in user preferences to major shifts in how audiences like to date as a whole, there’s a chance that the event will also serve as a shift in the platform’s overall direction.
