Viber Dating Reports 96% User Growth in the Philippines

The Philippines has become the fastest-growing market for Viber Dating, accounting for 56% of all new dating profiles created globally so far this year. Rakuten Viber shared the figures during a media briefing in Makati, highlighting the country’s growing importance to its dating business.

David Tse, Rakuten Viber’s APAC senior director, said Viber Dating recorded 96.9% year-on-year growth in monthly active users in the Philippines, compared with 44% globally. Year-to-date revenue increased 95.6%. The Philippines has emerged as a key market for the company’s dating business.

Dating Inside a Messaging App

Viber launched its dating feature in February 2025, allowing users to meet potential partners without leaving the messaging app. Viber Dating operates through a separate dating profile, giving users access to matchmaking features while keeping their dating activity separate from regular chats and contacts.

The company has placed privacy and account safety at the centre of the service. Viber uses systems to identify suspicious profiles and remove undesirable accounts. Its expansion into dating puts it alongside platforms such as Facebook, which offers dating services within an established social app.
