Vybes Launches Creator-Driven “Vybes Villa” Series
Gen Z dating app Vybes has launched “Vybes Villa,” a creator-driven reality series that premiered on January 12, 2026, marking a novel approach to product demonstration and user acquisition in the competitive dating app sector. Hosted by content creator Zach Justice and produced in partnership with Dropouts University Studios, the series streams on YouTube. It features participants selected exclusively from Vybes’ verified member community, aiming to highlight the app’s core features.
Brittnee Barnes, who assumed the CEO role in late 2025 after experience scaling consumer brands, described the initiative as an extension of the app’s philosophy into entertainment.
Vybes differentiates itself through mandatory verification, a focus on video interactions over prolonged messaging, and an emphasis on curated, intentional connections rather than high-volume matching.“Instead of being over-salesy, we make something fun and addictive to consume, and then people want to be part of that community,” Brittnee says.
“Vybes Villa unlocks context, intentionally and playfully,” Brittnee explains. “The app is designed for thoughtful connection over time, while the show is dating turned all the way up – games, chemistry, shifting dynamics – while still pulling directly from our real community.” Brittnee says onboarding creators as investors changes the incentive structure: “It unlocks access to millions of people who already trust this person. It’s closer to a referral than an ad.”
Since the launch, Vybes has observed significant growth, including an 8x rise in weekly downloads and conversion rates approaching 60%. The series has also driven a notable influx of female users, shifting the gender balance closer to 55/45 in favor of women – a reversal of imbalances common in many dating apps. The company views the project as a foundational element in a broader strategy integrating product, content, and offline experiences, with plans for additional seasons and specialized formats, such as an LGBTQ-focused edition.
