X Launches ‘React with Video’ Feature for Creator Commentary
X has introduced a new feature called “React with Video” that enables users to record short video responses to posts instead of simply reposting or quoting. The tool is currently available on iOS and will be rolled out to Android and web in the coming weeks. X Head of Product Nikita Bier described commentary as a core part of the platform and noted that video can sometimes be the most effective way to share thoughts.
The feature is aimed primarily at creators who build audiences through reactions to news, events, and other content. It allows for richer feedback by capturing tone and facial expressions, potentially making interactions more personal and engaging. X believes it could help creators become more integrated into ongoing conversations on the platform.
The launch fits into a series of recent changes X has made to support creators. These include adjustments to its revenue-sharing program, new “Paid Partnership” labels, exclusive threads in Creator Subscriptions, and measures to reduce payouts for low-value or clickbait content. The company has also scaled back its Communities feature to prioritize direct user connections.
X reported 550 million users as of March 2026, an increase from 520 million in December 2025. The platform continues to experiment with tools that encourage original content and creator participation as it competes in the social media space.
