X Revamps Creator Subscriptions with Threads, Cards, More
X has announced a major update to its Creator Subscriptions feature, introducing tools designed to help creators monetize content more effectively and deepen fan engagement. The enhancements aim to strengthen X’s position in the creator economy alongside platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.
Key new features include:
- Exclusive Threads: Creators can now monetize long-form threads directly on X. A public teaser post allows non-subscribers to preview value, while full access requires a subscription. Subscriber-only threads appear seamlessly in the creator’s main profile feed instead of a separate tab, improving visibility and retention.
- Shareable Subscriptions Card: A new promotional card lets creators share their subscription offering directly on X, encouraging fans to subscribe without leaving the platform.
- Refreshed Dashboard and Paywall: Creators gain a unified dashboard to track earnings, subscriber insights, and built-in growth tools. The subscription onboarding process has been streamlined to two steps, and paywalls now let creators highlight benefits clearly.
- Faster Application Reviews: X has accelerated review times for subscription setup, enabling quicker monetization.
Allegra Jacchia, Creators Product at X, stated: “We are doubling down on creators… by investing in tools that enable sustainable incomes and deeper connections with their audiences.” The updates complement the recent launch of the “Paid Partnership” label, which provides a built-in, clean way to disclose sponsored content—replacing hashtags and ensuring compliance with regulations.
X has paid out more than $45 million to creators through its revenue-sharing program since 2023. For 2026, the company doubled the revenue pool available due to growth in X Premium subscriptions. A spokesperson confirmed recent payout increases for some creators, alongside a $1 million campaign promoting long-form articles.
