Karl Gregory, the UK and European Director of Match.com has been interviewed in the Evening Standard.

Gregory, who is apparently known in the Match.com offices as “The King of Love”, has overseen the dating site hit £141m in European revenues last year, and says the site has 50% of the paid-for segment of the UK market.

He previously worked for Alta Vista, Yahoo and Touchlocal before joining Match.com in 2009.

Gregory speaks about the dating differences between the US, UK and other European countries, and how Match.com use their “secret sauce” algorithm, along with interest-based and browsing behaviour matching.
