Match Group Protests Apple’s 30% Fee On India Expansion

Since 2022, Match has been locked in an antitrust battle with Apple at the Competition Commission of India. Match – the owner of platforms like Tinder, and a recent expander into the Indian dating market – has said that the fee of up to 30% in India will gradually stifle the company’s revenue and make said expansion harder. Match argues Apple’s policy limits third-party payment options and unfairly classifies Tinder as a digital service while charging lower fees to apps like Uber, which it claims also provide “matchmaking” services.
