Pivoting your business or startup can be one of the hardest, but most important, decisions a founder can make – whether it’s when your company is succeeding or failing.
The founder of a Greek service called Cookisto recently wrote an interesting Medium blog about his own experiences going through this change when his food startup pivoted after its founders realised the product was dying.
Michalis Gkontas speaks about the app’s initial successes and how they were able to get coverage on the BBC, Sunday Times & CNN, raise funding & hit 40,000 users.
However despite this, after asking some tough questions about their own business, the founders decided to completely change the company’s focus, tasking the team with taking an entirely new product to market in just three months.
