SaucyDates.com has risen to the top of the mobile search results for “adult dating” since Google’s mobile-friendly algorithm changes kicked in.
On the 21st April, Google announced they would start ranking sites that were mobile-friendly higher in mobile search results.
The shake-up, dubbed “mobilegeddon” by some, changed the algorithm to take into account a site’s “mobile-friendliness”.
And the change has caused a shakeup in the top 20 search results for “adult dating”, with just five of the top 20 retaining their positions.
This is the top 20 from March 31st:
And this is the top 20 from June 8th:
As SaucyDates said: “You can see the change is significant with only 5 of the original top 20 remaining in place and all other sites being new entires into the top 20 results. The other important change is the inclusion of apps within the results.
“All 5 of the original sites that remain all passed the mobile friendly test. Some other sites which we have listed as NEW are subdomain variation of the original 20 (m.adults.co.uk > naughty.adults.co.uk). Sites that passed the mobile test but had low speeds also seems to be impacted.”
Website owners can check how mobile-friendly their site is here.
In a blog post explaining the changes, Google said: “When it comes to search on mobile devices, users should get the most relevant and timely results, no matter if the information lives on mobile-friendly web pages or apps. As more people use mobile devices to access the internet, our algorithms have to adapt to these usage patterns.”
