BIG One Promotes “Cucumber Date” Code for Larger Men
David Minns, founder of BIG One and a notable figure in niche dating, has taken another step towards promoting body positivity with a new “Cucumber Date” concept. Based loosely on the Pineapple-gate technique used in Spain (where placing a pineapple upside-down in a shopping trolley signals availability during 7pm to 8pm “hookup times”), the idea is to hold a cucumber with one hand to signify that you have an above-average penis size.
Minns, known for his innovative approaches to dating, developed the concept to add levity to the often stressful dating scene. Cucumber Date” offers a fun and lighthearted way for men to embrace body positivity and confidently signal their interest in meeting others, but without relying on typical dating expectations or being so upfront that it drives matches away.
“We wanted to create something that would make people smile, something fun yet empowering,” says Minns, in regard to the cucumber code. “Holding a cucumber while shopping is a humorous and confident way to break the ice and embrace who you are.” The movement has been backed by Jonah Falcon, famously known for his large penis – with him being one of the first people to kick off the trend on social media.
BIG One was originally created as a sister site to dinky ONE, a platform focused primarily on owners of smaller penises. David Minns has been committed to body positivity at both ends of the spectrum, and this new cucumber code technique is just another way for people to be proud of their bodies without being inherently oversexualized or scrutinized.
