BlueCity’s Health Service Platform Granted Internet Hospital License
He Health, BlueCity’s health service platform for men, has officially obtained an internet hospital license in Mainland China, meaning it is able to host a more complete set of resources.
The platform was first launched in March 2019 to offer consultations and advice on a variety of male health issues. These include premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, HIV testing and prevention, as well as improving drug accessibility.
When He Health was first launched it mainly focused on sexaul health issues, but this has since expanded to include more general matters like hair loss, skin care and mental health.
This latest development will allow the brand to work with established and respected doctors to directly interact with the clients.
BlueCity’s founder and CEO Baoli Ma explained in a statement: “We’re delighted to open up what will be China’s first Internet hospital focused on men’s health, tapping into a budding sector that we view as a key driver in the brand’s next phase of growth.
“[This] is backed up by the eightfold increase in profits BlueCity saw for He Health year-on-year during the fourth quarter of 2020.”
He Health generated approximately $1.75 million in revenue during the most recent fourth quarter. This equates to around a quarter of BlueCity’s revenue outside of the flagship Blued platform.
BlueCity used to run a family planning business but that was terminated at the start of the financial year.
