Bumble BFF Hosting Monthly Meetups in Winnipeg

Bumble Hive New York

Bumble will be hosting monthly BFF events in Winnipeg, to help its users move their in-app connections into the real world.

The first event, the ‘Sweat Meetup’ was held on Saturday 22nd September. It was scheduled to be a free outdoor workout in the city’s Old Market Square. However, adverse weather conditions forced the session to be moved to an indoor location.

All the attendees had to do was show their BFF profile upon entry and they were treated to free Bumble merchandise as well as the full workout. It started with a 30 minutes bodyweight workout, before another 30 minutes of yoga and mobility work.

The session was run by representatives from ‘The Community’, a new gym that is set to open in Winnipeg next year.

Raegan Hedley, Bumble’s community marketing manager in the Canadian city, told ChrisD.ca: “Our goal is to create positive and inclusive experiences for our users in Winnipeg so they can make empowered connections.

“Bumble is all about making digital relationships personal again.”

Bumble has always worked towards creating an experience for its users outside of the original dating app. It has been successfully running ‘Bumble Hive’ events in a variety of cities for the past couple of years, including one in Toronto in May 2018.

Speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt earlier this month, Whitney Wolfe Herd revealed that the brand is looking to expand these events during the next year.
