Chappy (co-founded by Made in Chelsea’s Ollie Locke) and private dating club Social Concierge have teamed up to launch ‘Mr Social’, a new party brand for professional gay men in London and New York.
The date for the launch is Friday 2nd March. The platform will be aimed at single, professional gay men in their 20’s and 30’s.
The launch will take place at the new Piccadilly spot, Jack Solomon’s Club. It is a subterranean cocktail bar on Great Windmill Street.
The welcome drinks will be from 8pm at the bar, and will be sponsored by Veuve Clicquot. The cocktail party will go on until late.
Live jazz and DJ’s will play at the venue, and there will also be a Chappy Champagne Room for all of the VIP app holders.
Offline events are becoming more and more popular within dating apps recently, with the likes of Tinder, The League and Bumble all hosting events to better engage their users.
Social Concierge founder Nana Wereko-Brobby admits advising her own members to use apps to complement her offline services. She said: “Dating in London and New York is tough enough without people swearing off apps entirely. It’s not a case of picking one platform over another. It’s a case of changing your mindset so you weave several tactics into your life in an enjoyable way. Which is why it’s more important you pick dating companies that suit your outlook/vibe and then dive in.”
Chappy co-founder Ollie Locke also showed his enthusiasm for single Londoners using both apps and events to meet Mr Right or Right Now. He added: “We are really excited to partner with Social Concierge for Mr Social. On Chappy, you can find your Mr Right or Mr Right Now within a swipe but we are equally as excited about you meeting a potential someone at one of our events. We can’t wait to hear your stories from Mr Social.”
