Queek’d, an online dating directory and comparison platform founded by Elisa McLean, has just received an investment of £30,000.
The business secured the investment from Norwegian investor Ingvard Busengdal after McLean pitched last year.
When we spoke to McLean in 2015, the founder described the platform as “an online dating efficiency platform that gives users one central location for accessing all things related to dating.”
The Manchester-based site has since become more of a dating comparison platform, letting users input their dating site preferences – such as monthly membership fee, favoured tech and niche – then comparing various dating services.
And after launching in early 2016, the company has partnered with dating brands like Cupid, Bumble, eHarmony, Match.com and Elite Singles.
In addition to this service, Queek’d also gives dating advice, offers from local dinner date partners and exclusive subscription discounts through its newsletter.
Speaking about the latest investment, McLean said: “Being single myself I am now so passionate about helping other singles, which definitely came across when pitching to my investor.
“I was so pleased that Ingvard could see my vision and the investment will help us gain more users and allow us to plan for phase two which I’m really excited about.”
Queek’d’s founder said the investment will help the business prepare for crowdfunding, as the company readies a set of exclusive competitions in the run up to Valentine’s Day, and further product releases in the second half of 2017.
McLean said: “It’s an exciting time for queek’d. There are a few sites that are looking to join queek’d in the next few months and we have several brand ambassadors on board who all support what we do.
“The investment we have received will help us develop the product further so we can reach even more users, and hopefully direct them to love and their future partners and soul mates.”
