Instagram Will Soon Let You Temporarily Hide Posts With New ‘Archive’ Feature

Instagram 700m

Photo-sharing platform Instagram is testing a new feature that will let users hide posts from public view and re-post them at a later date.

Called “Archive”, the feature will offer people the chance to hide posts, rather than delete them.

Instagram will store these archived photos in a separate section of Instagram for the user to view privately, then give them the option of re-publishing the content.

Archive
To archive something on Instagram, users click the three dots on the corner of the photo or video and choose the archive option.

These posts will then be stored under the new clock icon in the top right-hand corner of the person’s profile.

Instagram users will then be able to view the posts and choose which (if any) of their archived photos or videos they wish to re-publish.

Instagram is expected to roll out Archive over the coming months.
