Marc Schachtel and Geoff Cook Replace Tim Schiffers as ParshipMeet Group Co-CEOs
Tim Schiffers is stepping down from his position as CEO of ParshipMeet Group as he looks to take on new challenges.
After joining the company seven years ago, he helped it become one of the most popular online dating organisations in the industry, with a substantial foothold in Europe. ParshipMeet Group generated €60 million in revenue throughout 2014, a figure that eclipsed €500 million last year.
Schiffers also oversaw a number of major acquisitions during his time, including ElitePartner, eharmony and The Meet Group. It was the most recent deal that made him decide to “hand over the baton” after reaching another significant milestone.
COO Marc Schachtel and The Meet Group’s CEO Geoff Cook are taking over as co-CEOs, both jointly responsible for the management and strategic direction of ParshipMeet Group. CFO Henning Rönneberg is also joining as the final member of the management team.
Schiffers stated in the press release: “I am proud to have contributed to the success story of ParshipMeet Group for many years with an outstanding team by my side. It has been an exciting and fantastic journey.
“With the integration of The Meet Group in Europe and the US, the next milestone has now been successfully reached. Now is a good time to play a shaping role in a new environment. With its well-coordinated management team, ParshipMeet Group is in good hands for future growth.”
Schachtel will specifically oversee the matchmaking, relationship business, while Cook will continue to apply his expertise to the ‘Social Dating & Entertainment’ division and live streaming products.
Cook said in a LinkedIn post responding to the announcement: “I’d like to express my gratitude to Tim Schiffers for his tremendous strategic leadership over the years in building a company that has moved forward an entire industry and for being a mentor and a friend.”
