Swipeless App Aims for Global Expansion

Swipeless, a relatively new Malaysia-based dating platform with a focus on making users “swipe less” by taking dating offline as often as possible. Founded by Shan Li, the platform focuses on organizing real-life events to foster connections based on shared activities, reducing the reliance on swiping through profiles.

Shan Li, who has a background in finance and a history of co-founding Babydash (a baby supplies store), launched Swipeless after finding traditional dating apps inefficient for real-life connections. Swipeless offers a variety of events, from pickleball and karaoke to hiking and cooking workshops, where like-minded individuals can meet organically.

Swipeless leverages online and offline data to refine its matchmaking algorithms, offering event recommendations based on user preferences and attendance history. Users cannot connect online until they’ve met in person at an event, and the platform’s marketplace system allows hosts to create and run events independently.

With over 800 users and more than 50 events hosted, Swipeless is piloting in Kuala Lumpur and plans to expand to other cities.
