Tagged Users Receive Gift Cards For First Offline Dates
The Meet Group has introduced a new dating event to Tagged which will reward contestants with gift cards to their favourite restaurants.
Users who take part in NextDate and BlindDate games on a specific ‘DateNight’ could win a free $10 gift card to spend on their first offline date. The initiative will be active every Thursday and Sunday from 9pm-11pm EDT, until it ends on 31st July.
It’s hoped that matches will feel encouraged to use their prizes and start having offline dates again after more than a year of keeping everything virtual.
DateNight was first released to MeetMe members 12 months ago at the end of the first COVID-19 wave. However, the release was much more cautious and only available in the areas where case numbers were relatively low.
Geoff Cook, CEO of The Meet Group, explained in a statement: “Last year, we introduced NextDate and BlindDate to the Tagged community as a way for our members to date safely through video and have fun.
“Over the last year, our members have struggled with mental health and financial worries due to COVID-19. We hope this dating stimulus will help our Tagged members enjoy their summer dates even a little more with the first drink on us.”
He also added that internal research found 84% of Tagged users were planning to go on a date in the next 30 days, encouraged by the ongoing vaccine roll out.
NextDate and BlindDate are two separate games that can be played across different platforms in The Meet Group’s portfolio. They help streamers host short virtual speed dating events while broadcasting to a watching audience.
The Meet Group continues to work with its Safer Dating Advisory Board to ensure it is keeping the community up to date with all of the latest health and safety guidelines.
