Tapple Releases AI Dating Simulator

Tapple is one of Japan’s biggest dating apps, helping over 19 million members to find love. Its parent company is now releasing a dating simulator where users can exchange messages with an AI-powered character.

A recent report from SoraNews24 shines a spotlight on ‘Koi Suru AI’, a new app that enables users to develop a connection with an artificial intelligence called ‘Ai’.

The platform’s chatbot avatar will be able to remember each user’s interests & patterns, allowing for increasingly deep connections. This ongoing dialogue will also influence the AI avatar’s personality.

The avatar will even have a voice to enhance communication. The platform will turn machine-generated text into audio notes, using the voice of voice actress Rikako Aida.

It is important to note though, that Koi Suru AI is not supposed to be an AI girlfriend. The platform was designed “in response to the declining awareness of marriage and love, especially among the younger generation”, Tapple Co Ltd shared.

By helping users to “virtually experience the process of forming an intimate relationship”, the company hopes to “improve the quality of love-hunting and marriage-hunting” which will ultimately “foster momentum for love through enjoying real love experiences”.

This isn’t the first AI-powered dating simulator that is looking to spark real-life romance. For example, Blush is a platform where users swipe on AI-generated characters as if it were a real dating app, with the objective of learning and practicing relationship skills.
