The Match Group Launches New Guide To Educate Singles About Online Dating

The Match Group has released a brand new dating guide that seeks to educate singles on how to approach online dating.

Published on – a site acquired by IAC in 2012 – The Ultimate Dating Guide hopes to offer singles a breakdown of tips and best practices around looking for love online.

Apart from OkCupid’s blog, the Match Group has generally steered clear of this type of marketing before, Match Group’s Maximus Kang told GDI, describing it as “a first” for the company.

The guide is split into 12 chapters, each dealing with a different element of online dating, covering safety tips, how to build a good profile, etiquette and real life stories.

The Ultimate Dating Guide introduction explains more: “This guide was created to help you navigate your way through all those adjectives and shed the only light you’ll ever need on an otherwise confusing, strenuous experience.

“It covers everything from how to get started to proper profile and messaging etiquette in today’s online dating world.

“Any question you’ve had about how to approach dating is about to get answered by this one-stop, all-you-need-to-know, ultimate online and app dating guide.”

So far, DateHookup has released four out of 12 chapters, the first giving a breakdown of six tips singles should take on board when online dating.

The chapter offers online daters advice on how to build a good profile, the etiquette of messaging first, how to describe what you’re looking for and how to take things offline.

Chapter two tackles how to create a great profile, the guide’s authors explaining that: “According to Pew Research, one out of every five online daters has asked someone for help with their profile.

“Whether this is because they are overwhelmed with information or simply want a trusted friend to help them create a more engaging profile, it is clear that many daters need a little boost when it comes to creating a better profile.”

DateHookup has so far launched four chapters, with the remaining eight expected over the coming months, and plans to promote the guide on its Facebook page, which has over 118k+ likes.
