Serie A football club Napoli has teamed up with Tinder to set up its striker Arkadiusz Milik with a verified profile on the app.
Confirmed on Monday, the partnership will enable fans to match with Milik and send messages of support and well-wishes for recovery following his knee injury.
The striker will then choose four of his favourite messages and arrange to meet the senders.
Milik said: “I’m really proud to be part of this unique and innovative initiative with Tinder.
“Technology brings people together, just like sports, and I look forward to starting this new adventure.”
The striker was signed from Ajax last year as a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, but the 23-year-old suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury last October, and has only made 14 appearances this season.
This move marks the first partnership Tinder has made with a football club, the dating app’s VP of Partnerships David Wyler saying: “We are happy to support Arek Milik and SSC Napoli.
“Tinder is first and foremost a platform for meeting new people. We look forward to connecting fans with their favourite player.”
