New insights from App Annie have shown that a number of dating applications rank among the top ten non-gaming apps by revenue for the UK in 2017.
Tinder was found to be the top non-gaming app in the country by revenue between January 2017 and September 2017, closely followed by Netflix.
Badoo came seventh on the list, while Match.com was tenth.
Spotify (third), Google Drive (fourth) and Sing! Karaoke (fifth) complete the top five, and mindfulness app Headspace (sixth), Skype (eighth) and music streaming service Deezer (ninth) complete the top ten.
Tinder has seen significant revenue increases since the introduction of Tinder Gold – a higher tier of their premium membership.
The Gold feature allows users to see who has ‘swiped right’ on their profile, meaning members can choose to only browse people that are interested in them already. Bumble introduced an analogous feature in 2016 called ‘Beeline’.
