Web Summit 2022 Hosts Record Number of Startups
Web Summit, a tech event bringing together the world’s tech community, is hosting a record-breaking number of startups at its Lisbon conference from the 1st to the 4th of November. 2,630 startups are expected to join, alongside over 1,000 speakers and 70,000 attendees.
Over 100 unicorns will be among the attending startups, representing exciting industries such as AI, ecommerce, fintech, and marketing. Representatives from startups will be discussing entrepreneurship during the current period of global economic difficulty.
Speakers at the event hail from global tech firms, including Lisa Jackson, Vice President – Environmental Initiatives, Apple; Naomi Gleit, Head of Product, Meta; and Amrapali Gan, CEO, OnlyFans.
From the online dating community, Ana Kirova, CEO of Feeld will be among the speakers. Feeld is a pioneer dating app that helps couples and singles to make new connections, with 2 million matches made and over 30 million user messages sent monthly.
This year the event will launch four new stages to cover growing and significant industries. These include focuses on influencer and content creators; online security and cyber warfare; cryptocurrency; and literary publishing.
The conference’s exhibition floor, the size of 371 tennis courts, will cater for over 2,630 companies looking to connect with attendees. A number of events will be taking place throughout, including ‘The Gathering’, an invite-only session bringing together 200 early-stage startups for discussions and roundtables.
