WooPlus Launches ‘Curvy Ally’ Badge

WooPlus has launched a new profile feature that rewards men for allyship and good behaviour towards plus-size women on the app. WooPlus is the leading dating app for curvy people to enjoy dating, without the fear of body shaming.

Male users can earn the ‘Curvy Ally’ badge on their profile in reward for respectful behaviour, based on feedback from female users. This badge unlocks weekly perks and wider profile access.

However, the badge can be taken away if the male user is found to be misbehaving, ensuring that women have the power to decide who is a ‘Curvy Ally’.

Within the first week of badge’s testing phase, 74% of female users engaged with the new reviewing system. More than 90% of male users have distinguished themselves as proud Curvy Allies.

“Our mission has always centered around creating an inclusive place where individuals of all shapes and sizes thrive”, said Neil Raman, founder and CEO of WooPlus.

“With Curvy Ally, the dynamics are evolving. Plus-size women on WooPlus now hold the reins, steering their encounters. We’re curbing body shaming and building a more supportive and unique dating platform that celebrates the diverse beauty of our users”, he added.

To mark this new milestone, WooPlus have taken to TikTok to start a viral trend, the #TakeNBiteChallenge. Aligning with Plus Size Appreciation Day and Curvy Day, the campaign looks to amplify the voices of plus-size women and celebrate allyship. The hashtag has more than 340,000 views so far.

Since 2015, WooPlus has created over 50 million matches. You can find out more about the Curvy Ally feature on WooPlus’ website here.
