AI in the Dating Scene: ChatGPT Reaches 33% Usage by Men
With artificial intelligence now part of the dating landscape, men are increasingly using tools like ChatGPT to boost their online profiles and send engaging first messages. According to a recent survey by Attractiontruth, around 20% of men aged 25-35 have turned to AI for help with dating, with over a third reporting increased confidence and better engagement with matches on platforms like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge.
Beyond casual users, AI-specific dating tools are gaining traction. YourMove.AI, for example, has attracted around 250,000 users since its 2022 launch. Founder Dmitri Mirakyan notes that many users are introverts or people who find social interactions challenging. Interestingly, 33% of men aged 18-34 are now using ChatGPT for relationship advice, with only 14% of women in the same age bracket doing the same, according to a Pollfish survey.
Dating platforms are also exploring AI integration. Grindr is working on an AI wingman, and Tinder has expressed interest in incorporating AI features to improve user experience. While many platforms are approaching the use of AI differently, the simplest form is text generation, which is why ChatGPT-style message options are so widespread.
As AI’s role in dating continues to grow, the impact on authenticity in relationships remains a question. While AI tools may simplify the initial approach, the challenge lies in translating algorithm-driven connections into meaningful, real-life relationships – with the common criticism that users aren’t actually “being themselves” if they’re replacing their own personality and messaging style with something auto-generated.
