CatholicMatch Acquires Brazil’s Ágape Dating App

CatholicMatch has acquired Ágape, a Brazilian dating app for Catholic singles. The deal expands CatholicMatch’s presence in Brazil, one of the world’s largest Catholic markets. Financial terms were not disclosed.

CatholicMatch launched in the US in 1999. Brian Barcaro and Jason LaFosse founded the company and remain involved in the business. The platform focuses on Catholics looking for relationships and marriage and has expanded internationally over its 27-year history.

Ágape launched in Brazil in 2023 and combines dating features with Catholic content focused on relationships, vocation and marriage. CatholicMatch describes Ágape as Brazil’s largest Catholic dating app. The company said it will combine its technology and resources with Ágape’s local community as it expands in Brazil.
