New ‘Women in Dating’ Website Launched by Community of Female Industry Leaders
Some of the most respected voices in the dating industry have united to launch the ‘Women in Dating’ website, the online home of the community for female leaders in the international online dating and matchmaking market.
Launched today, the Women in Dating (WID) website is built around an ethos of making the online dating space safe and welcoming for females. The community has named Karima Ben-Abdelmalek, CEO of Happn, as President.
“It is a pleasure to be named President of Women in Dating and lead this dynamic group of women from the global online dating and matchmaking industries,” says Karima, who is known for putting safety at the epicentre of Happn’s astronomical growth into becoming one of the world’s leading dating apps.
The Women in Dating mission centres around five core principles that include connecting women at all levels in the dating and matchmaking industries, making their voices heard through podcasts and other mediums, creating a best-practice guide by women in the industry for women in the industry, and using the experiences of those within WID to create content that will inspire others.
In-person networking will bring together members of WID at least twice a year, with events in London on 24th September 2024 and New York on 18th March 2025 already announced.
Women in Dating is encouraging as many females as possible from the world of online dating and matchmaking to join the free community, with some of the industry’s key figures already amongst its early members. They include Jacqueline Child, Co-Founder and CEO of Dateability, Nicole Drew, Founder and CEO of Rater, Lavina Lim of Feeld, and Mary Richardson, Co-Founder and CEO of Bindr.
