Hello Group Marks 15th Year, Coffee Meets Bagel Joins Portfolio

Hello Group is marking 15 years since the launch of Momo, the Chinese social platform that became the foundation of the company now operating a growing portfolio of dating and social products.

Momo began operations in July 2011 and Hello Group completed its Nasdaq listing in December 2014. The company changed its name from Momo Inc. to Hello Group Inc. in August 2021.

Today, Hello Group’s portfolio includes Momo, Tantan, happn and a range of other social products. Its current brand materials also list Coffee Meets Bagel Worldwide, stating that the business, excluding the U.S. and Canada, is operated by Hello Group’s Singapore team.

The development follows Coffee Meets Bagel’s restructuring in 2024, when the dating service established separate U.S. and Worldwide operations. Coffee Meets Bagel’s Worldwide terms identify Coffee Meets Bagel Pte. Ltd. as the entity providing the service outside the U.S., while the company has continued to maintain separate U.S. and Worldwide apps.

Hello Group’s current website does not appear to identify a specific acquisition or transaction through which Coffee Meets Bagel Worldwide became part of its portfolio. Instead, the Singapore-based operation is now presented alongside Hello Group’s other brands.

The addition gives Hello Group another established international dating product as it continues to operate across different approaches to online social connection. Tantan serves dating users internationally, while happn is focused on location-based discovery. Other brands in the portfolio target social networking, entertainment and community experiences.
