Hinge Releases “All We Need Is Us” Marketing Campaign
Hinge has launched a new European brand campaign that shifts the focus away from first dates and grand romantic gestures, instead highlighting the ordinary moments that define long-term relationships.
Titled “All We Need Is Us,” the campaign is the latest instalment of Hinge’s long-running “Designed to be Deleted” platform, which emphasizes helping users leave the app after finding a meaningful connection. The new campaign will run across streaming platforms, cinemas and social media in Germany, France and Sweden.
Rather than centering on dramatic declarations of love, the campaign features real couples who met through Hinge sharing simple moments together, such as cleaning up after a party or spending quiet time at home. According to Hinge, the creative direction reflects changing attitudes among Gen Z, who increasingly associate emotional safety and connection with everyday experiences rather than milestone events.
Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Tamika Young said the campaign was inspired by the idea that relationships are built through small, shared experiences like cooking dinner, running errands or simply doing nothing together. Hinge says these moments often become more meaningful than traditionally romantic occasions.
The campaign was developed by creative collective Birthday and directed by filmmaker Justyna Obasi. Alongside the live-action footage, it introduces handcrafted “Hingie” mascots that appear throughout the films before humorously disappearing once a successful relationship has formed, reinforcing Hinge’s message that the app is no longer needed after people connect.
In contrast to the growing use of AI-generated content in advertising, the production team deliberately chose practical effects and handmade elements. Every Hingie mascot was built by hand using materials including yarn, feathers and noodles, while puppeteers operated the characters during filming. Handmade graphics and mixed-media social assets were also used throughout the campaign.
