‘Micro Wedding’ Popularity Grows as Online Worldwide Searches Soars by 335% In Last 20 Years
The “micro wedding” trend is reportedly thriving after a Google-focused study revealed the term has increased by 335% worldwide in the last two decades.
Micro Weddings are considered to be a smaller intimate event, with no more than 50 guests, but still apply the traditional aspects of a wedding.
The study, which analysed Google Trends search data, showed the online search volume has skyrocketed over the past few years, with searches reaching its peak this year.
Findings by business and marketing experts QR Code Generator highlighted online interest has proliferated by almost five times the average volume since COVID-19 pandemic.
Marc Porcar, CEO of QR Code Generator, discussed the findings:
“Modern couples aren’t feeling the need to conform to the traditional large-scale wedding set-up where you are planning for months, rushed off your feet the whole wedding day, don’t know half the guests and end up bankrupt before the honeymoon.
“These more intimate and personal celebrations allow couples to enjoy their special day because they have more time and energy to connect with guests and they can allocate their budget to meaningful details.”
