Nuzzl Dating App for Dog Lovers Launches in Austin

Nuzzl, a new dating app designed specifically for people who love dogs, is set to debut in the Texas capital on Feburary 21st. Founded by Ninis Samuel, the platform kicks off with a lively Launch Party & Yappy Hour at Central Machine Works brewery.

Nuzzl welcomes both dog owners (“parents”) and dog enthusiasts without pets. The core idea is that shared love for dogs creates an instant bond, making matches more compatible from the start. “Dog lovers make for better dates and better relationships,” Samuel explained. “That shared interest means you instantly have something in common.” Austin was chosen as the launch city for its tech-savvy community and reputation as one of America’s most dog-friendly spots.

Nuzzl offers a set of specifically chosen features that set it apart from standard dating apps, including:

  • Live profile verification via in-the-moment selfies to combat fakes.
  • No-ghosting policy: Matches must message or unmatch within three days, or the connection auto-disconnects (proactive unmatching doesn’t count as ghosting).
  • Dog-approved interest: Users can send real e-gift cards for PetSmart treats—starting with two free $2.50 cards for the first 500 sign-ups.
  • Pause option for busy periods and strike system for repeat offenders.

To build momentum, Nuzzl is currently building its user base via a waitlist – the app goes live once enough users join, leaving the exact launch date and time up to the community that it builds.
