Paktor and Lunch Actually to Merge, Consolidate Dating Experience
Singapore-based dating platforms Paktor and Lunch Actually have announced their merger, forming the Lunch Actually Paktor Group. The merger aims to expand the range of potential matches and provide a more personalized dating experience by integrating their distinct services – the new entity will continue to operate both Paktor and Lunch Actually independently but under a unified holding group.
This consolidation responds to a noticeable decline in user engagement with online dating apps, reflecting a growing desire for a more comprehensive suite of dating services. The integration is meant to address common challenges such as difficulty in self-presentation and the need for high-quality matches, offering personalized solutions that combine traditional dating methods with modern technology, including relationship coaching.
Paktor was originally able to capitalise on the low-competition Southeast Asian dating markets when it launched in 2013, and has only gotten stronger since then. The Lunch Actually matchmaking agency is even older, originally founded in 2024, and has both created and acquired multiple platforms in the past – but this aquisition is a major step forward for both companies.
With Lunch Actually retaining 1.2 million memebrs and Paktor having over 20 million users, it’s almost certain that this merger will have a notable impact on the markets that Paktor already serves – namely Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and South Korea.
