Pure Dating App Reaches $220 Million in Revenue Run Rate
Dating app Pure has reached an annualised revenue run rate of $220 million, with US revenue more than doubling over the past year. The company reported $100 million in annual revenue earlier this year and expects to double its current revenue run rate in 2027.
Pure operates a subscription model in which men and nonbinary users pay to initiate conversations, with prices starting at $13.99 per week, while women can access most features for free. The company reports a user base of 60% men and 40% women. Its platform focuses on anonymous interactions, with users posting personal advertisements describing their interests and preferences rather than relying on traditional swiping.
The company recently redesigned its app and has introduced features including disappearing messages, screenshot restrictions and optional profile verification. Pure also tested AI-generated profile pictures and biographies but discontinued them after finding they did little to improve user interactions. Its approach to anonymity has faced scrutiny following a lawsuit filed in Texas in October involving allegations of sexual assault against a minor.
